Yes! magazine replies Harrysong, insists he did say his parents are siblings

Yes! Magazine quoted singer Harrysong as saying his parents are siblings in an interview with them a while back. Harrysong released a statement some days ago denying he ever made the comment. The magazine editors have now released their own statement insisting that he did say it.Our attention has been drawn to a very disparaging comment from Harrysong, an up and coming artiste over an interview we conducted with him at Kcee's Omole Phase 2, Ikeja, Lagos home. As a responsible medium, Yes International! had wanted to ignore him and his deliberate act of mischief. But on a second thought, we decided otherwise, because in our considered opinion, it will be suicidal to disregard the young man's insinuations and cheap blackmail. However, we are also not unaware of Harrysong's ignorance and this again is a restraining factor on our side. ContinueSo, we wish to inform Harrysong and people like him that a print medium or any organization for that matter that deals in news has a right to stagger any interview. What is giving him sleepless nights is the content of the interview which very few people will be proud of. But he did not speak under duress. So, we are wondering what prompted this sudden outburst and antagonism. More so, when he applauded the interview at the time it was first used on the cover of our magazine.  For the records, it is important to state that this controversial interview resurfaced because our website crashed and in rebuilding it, we are uploading our lost materials. Experts say Tiwa Savage’s dress wasnt right for her!

She must have spent a fortune, wasted days and hours for fitting and amendments, but the expert jury we put together to access the wedding dress has given velvety voiced Tiwa Savage a hard knock!

We are told that the ball, strapless gown could have been perfect if Tiwa Savage was a fuller figure woman but for her shape it was off the mark. In fact, one of the experts said jocularly that except she had become pregnant over night; it was not appropriate. "The gown looked oversized at first glance and that is not a good sign at all"."Tiwa is svelte, with an hour-glass shape to die for, did you notice that with the dress? If you didn't then that dress did not pass the first test of fitting. Maybe the gown minus the frills would have worked better" one of our experts noted.

But Tiwa got excellent marks for her make-up which was described as flawless. Her make make-up handled by Joyce Jacobs, took care to work around her cheek bones and was perfect. Same high marks went for her hair done by Debola Falana. And her veil too was given thumps up.

Trust the bride to be so carefully scrutinized, the groom who wore   suit crafted by Nigeria's own Mai Atafo was adjudged picture perfect-same with his best man, Banky W. His outfit was also Mai Atafo inspired.

The wedding reception ceremony which was the Armani Hotel which is located on the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world was exquisite. It is no surprise that the décor, the planning and the execution was superb, that is because Elohor Aisien's Prive Event was in charge.

We gathered that the celebration was in three parts. The first part was the wedding proper where the couple were formally joined as one flesh and one blood. This was held in an open plan area that was decorated slightly and guests were seated church-style facing the couple. Thereafter, the reception was held at the Armani Hotel.  The after wedding party was also held at the hotel and it rolled till the wee hours of this morning.

"Stop now or face God’s wrath": Adeboye warns Redeemed pastors against fraud

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has spoken out against fraudulent practices reportedly being carried out within the congregation.The fraud which is reportedly being perpetrated by some pastors in the church has been a source of great concern to the G.O warning those who engage in such ungodly activities to stop lest they face the wrath of God.Adeboye is said to have issued a letter to the above effect admonishing the RCCG clergy to be accountable in all their dealing.Encomium Weekly reports:Information available to ENCOMIUM Weekly revealed that some of them engage in sharp practices which has been a source of headache to the humble clergy for a while.Thus, we learnt that he has issued a serious warning to Redeemed Church pastors over accountability and stewardship. The revered man of God admonished all those involved in dishonest practices to stop it or face the wrath of God.In a letter given to all the workers, specific instructions were handed to all pastors to be more accountable in their dealings. Daddy G. O also encouraged the pastors to be responsible for their flocks by taking good care of them.Thus, to guard against their fraudulent practices, he instructed all pastors manning each branches to have a petty cash book, asset register income, analysis and bank book.Furthermore, there would be a quality audit of the ministry's account book provided by the province.

"Lola Omotayo is not responsible for P-Square’s fight" – Jude Okoye

Y'all remember Peter and Paul Okoye (Psquare) publicly announced yesterday that they are back together, dispelling the rumors of their alleged breakup.

Their eldest brother and Manager; Jude Okoye today defended Peter's accused wife, Lola Omotayo because it was widely reported that she was responsible for the breakup. Clearing the air on the rumour, Jude tweeted; "We are all family including Lola, please stop blaming her, this was never about her, thank you"

Paul Okoye, also speaking on the issue sent out a public message via his Blackberry messenger which read; "To all our fans, friends and families, we are truly sorry…we are back!!!"

Columbus Short leaves Scandal! Sigh!

Im so sad! I love Columbus! What is up with him?

Columbus Short played the character of Harrison Wright on the hit series.
But as of now, he will no longer be part of the show.

In a statement made to Essence Magazine yesterday, Friday 25th April 2014, he said; "At this time I must confirm my exit from a show I've called home for 3 years, with what is the most talented ensemble on television today. I would like to first thank Shonda Rhimes for the opportunity to work with such an amazing cast. Thank you GLADIATORS, who have supported me throughout my entire career and of course to ABC and Shondaland for allowing me to play such a pivotal role in the Scandal series. I have enjoyed every single minute of it. Everything must come to an end and unfortunately the time has come for Harrison Wright to exit the canvas. I wish nothing but the best for Shonda, Kerry and the rest of the cast, who have become like a second family to me in such a short amount of time. For this, I will forever be grateful. "

This sad news follows reports of domestic violence between Short and his wife Tuere McCall-Short who recently filed for divorce and claimed he threatened to kill her and himself. This was all before the creator of the series, Shonda Rhimes, threatened to fire him if he didn't get his together on hearing the report. We guess her threats are definitely not idle.

P-square announce they are still together; "stronger than ever"!

It has been almost a week since rumours sparked of a Psquare breakup after Jude Okoye, thier elder brother, posted on twitter that he was "done".

Well, today, the brothers took to twitter to announce that they are still together. They all tweeted solidarity, including Paul's wife; Anita.

Harrysong denies saying his parents were siblings

Singer, Harrysong released a statement denying he ever granted an interview where he revealed his parents were siblings.

Harrysong said the interview, published by Yes Magazine, on April 22nd, is false.

His publicist released a statement saying;

"I have not granted any magazine an interview in the last 12 months where I spoke about my late parent so I find it worrisome, disheartening that a magazine would manufacture a story like such. It is disturbing."

Oprah's step-mum calls Oprah's relationship with bestfriend; Gayle bizarre

Oprah recently got a court order to remove her from her mansion leaving her homeless so she's looking for ways to get back at the billionaire by talking to the press and spilling family secrets. In a recent interview with UK Daily Mail, Barbara Vernon, 66, who was married to Oprah's dad for 14 years, claims that Oprah's relationship with bff Gayle King was bizarre. She's implying that there's more going on between them despite the fact that Oprah has had a man in her life in the last 28 yearsOprah began dating Stedman Graham in 1986 but, according to Barbara, who is now divorced from Oprah's dad, in all the times she saw them together she never once witnessed them hold hands or kiss.'Once Oprah took us on a Mediterranean cruise. "My parents are siblings" - Harrysong

Singer, Harrysong recently revealed in an interview with Yes Magazine that his father and mother are siblings. He said he's an only child because his parents split after finding out they were related by blood. 

In his own words; "My father and mother are actually brother and sister. They gave birth to me before they could realize that. It was a big abomination, so they had to separate. Even, they attempted to kill my father in that village but he fled, because in Warri where I come from , it is a taboo. They termed it incest."

Hollywood Actor, Cuba Gooding's wife files for divorce after 20 years of marriage

Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr's wife of 20 years filed for separation citing irreconcilable differences. The two married in 1994 and have three children together.

According to TMZ, Sara Kapfer, Cuba's high school sweetheart, filed yesterday April 22nd in L.A. County Superior Court. Sara wants joint legal and physical custody of their kids and isn't asking for child support currently.

D’banj Sounds off on Violence, Pays Hospital Bills of Nyanya Victims

Nigerian music star D'banj yesterday Tuesday 22nd April 2014, visited victims of the Nyanya bomb explosion in Abuja.

Bangalee went to the Asokoro District Hospital, Abuja, with the FCT Health Secretary Dr Ademola Onakomaiya.Speaking to reporters, he said; "I am a Nigerian and I am affected by any tragedy that befalls us and particularly in the spirit of Easter, I came to show the victims support.I have seen that the survivors are responding positively to treatment and thanked the medical team here for the efforts.We are appealing to the perpetrators of these acts to have a rethink and support the peace initiative so that our people would not be subjected to such wickedness."

D"banj also gave gifts to the victims and paid some hospital bills.With reports that D'banj paid hospital bills for the victims, does this mean the government isn't paying the fees of those affected?

Unfortunately, he died before the N3 million required for his surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife, could be raised.

President Jonathan approves 2014 World Cup budget

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has confirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan, has approved its budget for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.The federation's president Aminu Maigari, made this disclosure on Tuesday, during his meeting with the national team's coach, Stephen Keshi.He also added that preparations were in full swing, to make sure the Super Eagles do well at the competition."">"For our preparation, are very much on track and we have received the president's approval for the World Cup funding," Maigari said on Tuesday."We are not under any form of pressure and it us our belief that the Eagles will do well at the World Cup and we need everybody's input to actualize it."Maigari further assured that the Federation will not interfere with coach Stephen Keshi's selection process as his administration reposed utmost faith in the tactician.

Jonathan has agreed that UNILAG retains its name– Vice Chancellor

President Goodluck Jonathan has agreed that the University of Lagos should keep its identity ,pending the resolution of the National Assembly on the issue.It would be recalled that Jonathan had on June 12, 2012 announced the change of the institution from University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University.The declaration which triggered a protest, also led to a court case that forced the Federal Government to back down on the plan."">Speaking to the Nigerian Tribune, UNILAG Vice Chancellor, Professor Rahman Bello, disclosed that Jonathan had decided to leave the final decision on the name change to the National Assembly, since it was an Act of Parliament that established the university."Unilag is the first university in Nigeria to be established by an Act of Parliament. So, anything as regards name change and everything about the university were an Act of Parliament," he said."So, anything that would affect any change whatsoever would have to go through the legislation. And that is what the president has agreed to take its course," Bello said.He added that the proposed name change had been sent to the National Assembly and whatever the decision House took would be final."So, we are waiting for that. For now, the status quo remains. We remain the University of Lagos," the vice chancellor said."">He also revealed that the university was set to commence with the new session, a Bachelor of Arts degree course in the Chinese Language.Noting that Unilag was the first to introduce the degree in Africa, Bello said the decision was borne out of the need to satisfy the growing Chinese influence in Nigeria and the world generally."There is hardly anywhere you go today without seeing one or two Chinese companies around. Since they are here with us, we must be able to take advantage and partake in the businesses as well."So, by offering a degree in Chinese studies, those that we will train will be able to understand the Chinese Language and culture better and be able to inter-relate between them and Nigerians and be relevant in whatever businesses the Chinese operates here," Bello stated.

See how Tiwa's wedding is causing so much buzz. So today, stars put up the promo picture for Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz ' pre-wedding party and the comments came in. Some positive,  some negative. 

After posting the image on his official Instagram page, @bankywellington, someone commented on why the couple didn't choose a Nigerian city for the wedding.

The critic, @afrikaetal said; "Why Dubai all the time. Use the powerful platform you have to promote your home country instead of the hypocrisy of always running to other Countries. If you all invest the money into small businesses in Nigeria or Africa at lage, we too will have others running to us # proudly African #"

Banky W immediately responded and said;  "Such comments irritate me. We use the platforms we have to promote Nigeria all the time. We invest our money in Nigeria, You don't know the number of kids we put through school with scholarships, the number of health care bills we pay for people…you don't know the number of Nigerian companies we bank roll and float or the number of ideas we invest. It's hard enough finding happiness in this world…Two people should be able to celebrate it any way they fell like it!!! PLUS They already did their traditional wedding in Nigeria, they should be free to do whatever or go wherever they want for the white wedding. It;s THEIR wedding. Not a country's…not a state's…not mine…and certainly not yours. Leave them be. People all over the world get married, go on vacations or honeymoons, wherever they feel like it all over the world. Our ppl (people) should be allowed to do the same without being branded hypocrites. You and the high horse you rode in on should have several seats.My goodness.".

When asked yesterday, P-Square's publicist, Bayo Adetu, said the report of a psquare breakup is 'baseless and untrue'. Unfortunately, it is not! It's either Bayo is clueless as to what is happening in the Okoye household at the moment or he thinks the best thing to do for now is to deny that there's anything going on. I wrote that the twin brothers Peter and Paul engaged in physical combat on Wednesday. If this was false, Peter is a social media person, he would have immediately denied it. He didn't!Unfortunately P-Square fans, things are even worse than I reported yesterday. According to my findings, Peter Okoye wants out of P-Square and they have even gone as far as inviting a lawyer to divide their fortune.Now, let me make this clear. This report is based on what's been happening with the brothers up until right now Saturday April 19th. I don't know what will happen tomorrow, next week or next year but as of right now, Peter Okoye doesn't want anything to do with P-Square. I'm still hoping and many others are, that they will resolve their issues and realize that splitting will do no one good. So hopefully, they will resolve their issues. But I will still go ahead and tell you guys what's happening with the brothers as of now.First, Peter Okoye has moved out of Squareville mansion in Omole where he lived with his brothers for years and now lives in Lekki Phase 1 with his wife Lola Omotayo and their children. But the fight wasn't during rehearsal, which rehearsal? Peter has refused to do anything P-Square for weeks now. Forget that he was at his brother's wedding, things are not good between them right now. They were even invited to perform at president Jonathan's wedding but they didn't go. Peter wants out. He said Paul and Jude are sidelining him. That if they push out 200 songs, 199 would be songs Paul did. That people are now calling him a dancer in P-Square. Peter is really angry. He's even the cool and friendly one between the brothers but he is not himself right now. And then he accused his brother Jude of disrespecting his wife. Peter and Jude haven't spoken in weeks. Peter said Jude has been disrespecting Lola for years and he was done tolerating the BS. In fact Peter said that not only is Lola older than Jude, but that she's also pregnant and Jude was upsetting a pregnant woman. If you notice Jude didn't attend their wedding last year despite the fact that he was in Nigeria. Jude asked Peter why he didn't marry Lola when their mother was alive. Jude said it's his wife that is pushing him and they will need to pray for him. In fact nobody in the Okoye family likes Lola and they didn't support the marriage. The brothers are really angry at each other. The police is even involved. This week, either the commissioner of police or someone from his office visited their house.The worst part is that they have invited lawyer to come and share property o. They want to share everything. The lawyer was at their house I think on Thursday. Peter said no more P-Square joint ventures. You know they own everything together, including a house in Omole, Parkview and Atlanta. Except something is done fast P-Square is about to be finished. But I know that people have been intervening and begging them to reconsider, that they are the biggest musical duo in Africa. Nobody will benefit if they split. The power to make money is in their togetherness.It is Jude people are begging to keep the brothers together, but after what he tweeted yesterday, it may truly be over for P-Square. Jude has really tried for his brothers, for him to give up may mean it's over for them.He practically put his entire life on hold for his brothers. Even sold his first car to shoot their first video but all that is about go come to an end like he tweeted. The only thing that can save the situation is if by a miracle Jude and Lola settle their differences but I don't see that happening"Oh dear. Hopefully, these boys will find each other again. They are brothers, they have to. Long live P-Square! May they never break up.

Read President Jonathan's Easter Message To The Nation

Dear Compatriots,

I greet you all, especially our Christian brothers and sisters who are celebrating Easter and commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ today.

As we join Christians in other countries of the world in celebrating Easter this year, I urge all Nigerians to reflect on the significance of its lessons of piety, obedience to higher authorities, self sacrifice for the good of others, redemption, salvation, deliverance, renewal and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

 

These lessons of Easter and other injunctions on brotherly love, peaceful co-existence, tolerance, honesty, humility, justice, equity and fairness to all without discrimination contained in the Gospels are of particular importance to us as a nation as we continue to contend with the challenges of nation-building and development.

As our Christian compatriots celebrate the Messiah's   triumph over death and all that it connotes, let us all renew our faith and confidence in our ability as a people to overcome all obstacles, challenges and threats to national progress and well-being, including terrorism and other criminal attacks on our people in some parts of the country.

My belief in our ability to overcome all retrogressive and divisive forces in our midst and build a strong, united and prosperous nation by turning our unique diversity into a source of strength remains unshaken and we will continue to work with all interest groups and stakeholders in the country to achieve the peaceful, secure and politically stable conditions essential for rapid socio-economic development.

In spite of the evil machinations of terrorists, criminals and their collaborators, our Administration remains ardently focused on efforts to successfully execute the Federal Government's Agenda for National Transformation and achieve sustained development.

We have already made notable advances in this regard. As a result of our efforts and those of previous administrations, the Nigeria economy is now the largest in Africa and the 26th largest in the world.

But we cannot afford to rest on our oars. Much remains to be done and we will continue to count on the patriotic support of all Nigerians as we strive to achieve more inclusive economic growth, generate more national wealth and create more employment opportunities to meet the demands of our increasingly youthful population.

I commend the leadership and delegates to the ongoing National Conference, the vast majority of who have shown a patriotic and praiseworthy commitment to national unity, peace and progress built on justice, fairness and equity for all component parts of the country.

As the Conference breaks into committees to continue its deliberations, it remains our hope and expectation that the end result will be meaningful and enduring contributions towards strengthening national unity and fulfilling our collective desire for a better and greater nation.  

Once again, I extend heartfelt commiserations to all the families who have sadly lost loved relatives in recent terrorist attacks.

Our thoughts and sympathies remain with all those who have suffered injuries from the heinous attacks. We  pray for their speedy recovery and shall keep on doing everything possible to assist them with required medical services and material support.

Our Armed Forces and security agencies will continue to do their very best to curb such attacks and restore full security to all parts of our beloved country.

But we must all become more alert and vigilant, and do all that we can to give them the fullest possible assistance, support and cooperation they require to achieve more effective protection of lives and property across the country.

We shall continue to count on your support and prayers for greater peace, harmony, progress and prosperity in Nigeria.

May God Almighty bless our dear nation and guide us, always.
