‎JK catches up with Zato!

Avid JK readers will remember my last interview with upcoming rapper; Zato. Hamzat Sanni-Shittu as he is known by friends and family, started off small but is definitely going places. In a short space of a few minutes, Zato discussed his music, new track; "Omo Aye", working close with his older brother; Abubakar Sanni-Shittu of B.I.C. and how he has still managed to remain relevant! JK. What has Zato been up to since the last time you met up with JK?

Zato: Well since that time I shot a video for my 1st single featuring terry tha rapman called Lost 1. Also dropped a Song called 'Good time' which is off my forthcoming mixtape 'walking on air' and was featured on a track called 'introducing zato' off Terry tha rapman's world nomination mixtape.


JK. Rumours will keep coming up that Zato doesn't rap anymore. Why the long break?

Zato: everybody knows that if you keep putting out your work anyhow/back to back without a well structured plan there's every possibility that you will not be appreciated as much as u deserve, so I take my time and let my fans anticipate my work.


JK. Your new track; Omo Aye is out, tell us about it. What inspired it?

Zato: omo aye came about as an attempt to take over the streets. Its a track basically talking about me enjoying life and the good things in it. People shouldn't look deep into it.


JK. Any new girl in Zato's life?

Zato: (Laughs) nahh no 'official girl' in my life. I'm taking my time.


JK. You've been seen to always rock B.I.C. Is it a family PR thing or your brother's your official stylist?

Zato: He is my official stylist. B.I.C all day


JK. What's the future looking like for Zato?

Zato: My mixtape titled 'walking on air' which features artists like teeto cemos, phero, mode9,terry tha rapman, flowssick, dammy krane, novakillz (etc) will be released by the end of the year. And videos off the tape will be shot as well.
