Deji, son of a former Minister of Finance and ex-Presidential candidate, Chief Olu Falae, was one of the victims of the ill-fated Associated Airlines plane that crashed in Lagos while conveying the body of the late former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu, to Akure on October 3.
Tears flowed freely at the funeral service which held at the Anglican Cathedral Church of Saint David, Ijomu, Akure.
The service was attended by Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko; his wife, Olukemi; and a representative of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
In his sermon, Bishop of Akure Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt. Revere Borokini, advised people to be closer to God in their dealings in life.
He said, "No matter what you have, it will expire the day you die; you will be called to eternal rest one day, it may be soon, you must know that the promises of God for mankind are true and just, be mindful of your dealings on earth".
Mimiko, while speaking to journalists after the funeral service, described the late commissioner as a humble, passionate and very hardworking government official.
He said, "Essentially Deji Falae was a young man well bred, he was humble, knowledgeable, dedicated and he had this unusual zeal for work and he was a man who cared for everybody no matter your status in life, especially he had a deep concern for the underprivileged in the society.
"He came on board as commissioner for culture and tourism and within the short period, he was able to add a lot of values to the system. He was very dear to every member of the cabinet, Ondo State will miss him."
