I was going through posts on social media this afternoon when I saw this post by Oyindamola Bamgbola.
We all either heard or read or saw what happened earlier on in the month between Davido and the Momodus and Olamide and Don Jazzy right?
Well here are two lessons Oyinda feels, we should learn from the scenarios. I know I've been on about PR, a lot, of late let's just say I'm swimming in PR territory at the moment! Lol!
"It’s not too early to pick up lessons from events that have happened in the very few days into 2016. Taking notes of these events and drawing wisdom from them is a good way to forecast the future and plan ahead.
1. Davido, Sophia Momodu and Uncle Dele Momodu on Crisis Management
The baby-mama drama between Davido (real name David Adeleke) and Sophia Momodu went viral days before 2016 but gained its way into the new year. A deep family issue, which could have been settled within the confines of a home, got on social media.
Yes, each party told his/her story, but what we learnt about the case was that those with facts have the upper hand.
In a full account of the story told in elevated English, Davido or an aide of his’ explained what conspired between him and his Baby Mama. In his story, he provided hospital test results and a picture to support his claim.
Word of mouth is not enough – provide evidence.
2. Olamide, Don Jazzy and LAWMA on Hijacking Hashtags
While Olamide and Don Jazzy were trending strongly nationally and internationally owing to the next rated award beef that started during the Headies 2015, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) was reaping fruits that it didn’t sow from the fight.
This is probably how it happened.
Someone who works for LAWMA or a friend of someone who does woke up to the news of Olamide and Don Jazzy’s story at the Headies Award on January 2, 2016. While going through Olamide’s Twitter timeline, this tweet struck a chord and a rapid publicity stunt began for the government owned account.
Thanks Enitan.
