I know some of us will be wondering why I keep dwelling on friends but friends, just like family, literally make or mar you. They are important factors in this journey called life.
I remember, as a young girl, filling slum books and scrap books and there was always that one section for "close friends" and "best friends". This section, if you ever filled one, you know, caused major problems in friendships back then. It was almost like a way to stamp or seal your friendships.
I even remember, as a young teenager, doing quizzes online to find out the kind of friend I am and ways in which I can improve as a friend. But if there's anything I have learnt or come to notice, it is that, dear I say it, I used to be the worst definition of a friend.

I was never friendly, I didn't know how to make friends and I didn't know how to keep them but fortunately for me God blessed me with wonderful friends that are a lot like me in their own individual ways. And somehow I have come out of my shell. Let's just say, I blossomed! lol!
The point of this post is to re-evaluate our stance as friends. I remember my last friendship post was on choosing the right friends, but I guess what i'm driving at here is being the best honey to the bees i.e. your friends. Be a wonderful person and attract the right kinds of people.
Are you dependable?
Can your friends think of calling you, first, when in trouble?
Are you trustworthy?

They say real friends are hard to find but are you what you are looking for? The Bible says in Luke 6:31 to do unto others what you want others to do unto you. The same Bible in Matthew 7:12 says to treat others the way you want to be treated. And I especially believe in only dishing out what you can take. And that goes for everything in life. It is even termed largely as "the golden rule".
We all speak about good friends but are we actually what we crave?
I want us to just for a while, sit back and re-evaluate our lives, look back at the sort of friends we are, the sort of friends we attract and the sort of friends we want. Are they the same kinds of people?

I hope this post gets us all to think and re-evaluate our friendships, because toxic friendships are not worth it. They break you down and diminish your self-esteem and personality.
Friendships are not by force, abeg. If a friendship isn't working, let it go (singing in Elsa's voice! Lol!) so you can have peace!
Enjoy your week!
