WAYWARD LIFESTYLE VOL.2

published on Tuesday, 30 August 2011

".......Just got back from a show and I'm here tired as hell. I smell like smoke and alchohol; kinda drunk. "I think better when I'm not sober"...so let me talk my shit again and share my honest thoughts... But damn in the past three months the way God has blessed me has been wonderful. From meeting the girl of my dreams,my friends are doing well for themselves, dropping freestyles people fuck with, getting attention from an international record label iv always wanted to work with, to shooting my own video, having my own clothing line..now clothing lines come around to give me free clothes to wear..sigh it seems like I'm blowing my own trumpet yeah?

Maybe I am. But then we all have blessings; we might not just see them. It took me 19 years of life to see my blessings..but then I feel like we are all blessed in our different ways. I don't give a fuck if you judge me..and I know a number of people out there can relate to this...but I love God with all my heart. I wish I could serve God in a better way..sometimes I wish do better than I'm doing right now. I wish I could go to church all the time, always pay my tithe, dance in church, listen to whatever the preacher says, obey all God says we should do,always give thanks....

I feel bad every now and then..and it amazes me on how God still finds it in his heart to look past all these things I do and still bless me. Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I don't even say thank you to God for keeping me safe but well he still keeps me safe throughout that day...that's grace. ‎

People that are righteous and upright die everyday but then I'm still alive and well but I still don't give enough thanks to God. I feel like my little prayers every now and then are not even enough. Sometimes I go to church and try to listen to whatever the preacher says but my damn mind just flies away and I'm lost in my fantasies and dreams. I tell myself I want to go to church every Sunday, but sometimes standing up from my bed on a sunday morning is soo hard. Ironically its always easy for me to stand up when I have a girl coming over or when I have a show or a party to perform at..but its hard to stand up and go to church..sigh!!. I wonder how God feels when I act like that. I could spend thousands in the club or spending thousands shopping and paying my tithe of just 10percent is just soo hard.

I want to change but then its always hard...I know I try hard...this just reminds me of what Naeto-C said in his song "voodoo".. "When you doing bad you remember you have a Bible"....when I hit rock bottom I never fail to remember God and say some serious problems; but damn when I get out of it, I reduce the way I pray and I attach less importance to prayers. God must really love me to allow me go scot free with all this.

‎I don't mind going to the club all night or staying up to watch Bet awards but staying up in a vigil is hella hard for me...sigh! I won't be surprised if God stops being patient with me and decides to pay attention to more religious people. I'll understand but guess what? God won't give up on me...he's always going to be there and He's going to open his arms to me whenever I run to him; even though I'm such a wayward child, God is always there for me. I don't know what you think but I know I love God and someday I'll become a better person......until then......."

NEW VIDEO-"FLY" BY NIKKI MINAJ FT. RIHANNA

published on Monday, 29 August 2011

The song; "fly" has been one of my favorite songs for a while now, but i never thought Nikki Minaj will release a video for it. But she did and here it is. The video is shot at an old plane wreck site. Nikki Minaj is seen in some awkwardly wierd outfits and weaves. The weave that caught my attention was the animal print hair. Her fight scene was also very interesting i must say. Rihanna looking sexy as usual, plainly did her part well. All in all the video is a good video. For those of us without video enabled phones, here is the youtube link;  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n71KUiWn1I&ob=av2e

VMAs-BILLBOARD'S 13 THINGS YOU DIDN'T SEE ON TV!!!!

published on

1. Katy Perry, who won Video of the Year and the collaboration Moonman, donned yet another outfit for the backstage pressroom -- a sparkle-laden black and white outfit with a 45 rpm single motif. She was, by far, the most eloquent of the all the award winners who made their way backstage, complimenting fellow nominees such as Adele and her husband Russell Brand. "Firework," she said, was the right song to win video of the year. "We all know 'California Girls' is not going to change the world. 'Firework' is a movement. You can always sing about clubs and bitches and ho's, it takes a little more to sing 'Firework.' " Currently concentrating on her tour, which she said has been a grueling year, Perry noted that "I don't want to feel like I've peaked -- I have too many outfits to go through." That comment led to follow up about her fashion sense. "I am OK with self deprecation. I'm all right with being laughed at, being laughed with, and laughing."

2. The quietest moment in the backstage press area preceded the arrival of Britney Spears. She mouthed the word "wow" as she walked up the platform for the photogs and struck poses in three positions, indicated to her handler she was finished and then left the room. All in 20 seconds.

3. An annoyed Stephanie Germanotta continued to play the role of Joe Calderone when she stepped backstage to greet photographers and the media after her performance and two wins. Refusing to acknowledge her Lady Gaga persona, she - or he -- contended that New Jersey was home, the family came from Palermo, Sicily and that Joe was "just a guy" and in no way a Guido. Joe explained his presence thusly: "She's just really fucking pissed at me. She said 'if you clearly love me, get in that spotlight.' So I did." Tough guy to the end, as she left the press area, she flipped off the photographers.

4. While Gaga has Joe, Nicki Minaj has Roman. The hip-hop video winner said her new album will have "a lot of Roman, a boy that lives inside of me. He's gay." She did not want to give out more details, only saying her fans will be pleased.

5. Eight members of Odd Future accompanied Tyler, the Creator who insisted on looking like he was about to cry while holding his Moonman. "This is awkward," he said, spewing f-bombs in every comment. Standing in one shoe and one sock, his limp onstage was the result of him falling offstage "into Kanye's arms." And while he acknowledged that Bruno Mars gave a good performance, he stuck to his guns in the assessment he gave during the pre-show. "I hate that dude's music." He was not that fond of the press corps either: as he left he directed his final comment to the people documenting his night. Lowering the microphone to the floor, he proffered a final single thought of "assholes."

6. Comedian Kevin Hart, who opened the show and appeared in several vignettes, said he was initially only scheduled to present the new artist award and that all of the appearances came together at the last minute. "Technically, they bullied me into hosting without paying me," he joked backstage as the show was approaching its conclusion. "I'm good friends with the network ... and I'm just thankful for the opportunity."

7. Sexual tension being a common theme at the VMAs, we asked Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice if she were offered the opportunity to redux the Madonna/Britney Spears/Christina Aguilera "Like a Virgin" performance -- and kiss Madonna -- would she? She demurred that as an 18-year old -- and a Nickelodeon star -- it probably wouldn't be in the cards for her.

8. Ne-Yo joked that his glittery orange shirt was made of recycled pennies and remarked that only a certain kind of man could pull it off. Trust us Ne-Yo, you looked smashing.

9. Nicki Minaj's eclectic outfit, meanwhile, was created by two Japanese designers. Her apocalypse-themed video for her song with Rihanna, "Fly," premiered during the VMA pre-show. Minaj said it compliments the song's "girl power" theme. "The song is very inspiring. I wanted to paint a picture of the end of the world, the end of something, and be amazing at the end -- being able to get back up and walk."

10. The last person to arrive on the red carpet was Cloris Leachman. The Oscar and Emmy winner shared moments with an intriguing collection of women during the night, hanging out with Beyonce on the black carpet before presenting an award to Lady Gaga and joking around onstage with the "Jersey Shore" gals.

11. Speaking of which: The "Jersey Shore" girls adjusted their decolletage for photographers as a quartet but a bit of tension crossed three of their faces as Snooki stepped away and took a few solo shots. Using cleavage to attract the photographers, Jennie "JWoww" Farley secured attention by dragging her boyfriend Roger Matthews onto the platform to pose with her. Fortunately, none of them spoke.

12. At one point prior to the show there was an altercation on MTV's press podium that was ultimately -- we think -- quietly resolved after a swarm of MTV press folks, plus some police officers -- swooped in to break up the rising tension. Others in the crowd were less tense, judging by the herbal aroma that surrounded a certain posse of hip-hop acts.

13. The black carpet arrivals area was housed "inside" the JW Marriott Hotel this year, instead of outside in the baking Los Angeles sun. The press corps that poured into the backstage area just as the show was starting was unanimously thankful to MTV for keeping them out of the 90 degree heat.

GIST FROM THE MTV VMAs!!!!!

published on

This year, it was fun to start watching the VMAs before my naija people. It was hilarious seeing Nigerians vent on twitter and other social networks about how "naija carries last" everytime. Apart from a few things though, the show was spectacular.

Lady Gaga opened the show with a nice little drama; acting as her alter-ego; Joe and a great performance to go with it. I was thinking she would have gone back stage to quickly slip into another one of her outrageous outfits but it seems like she's all grown up and has left the childish outfits for Nikki Minaj. (even though i still totally love Nikki!) Lady Gaga won the award for best female video for her video "born this way" and trust her to end her thank you speech saying; "Gay, straight, bi, trans-gendered -- you were born this way." Adele's performance on the other hand was powerful but short.

The biggest shock of the night however was Beyonce's pregnancy. It was something I definitely did not expect. Her performance was great as usual. The world at the end shared a blissful moment with her and her husband JayZ and also the ever hyper rapper; Kanye West. Both rappers JayZ and Kanye West had previously performed their hit song Otis and blew the crowd away. I however have a feeling that JayZ will bring tims back; but let's watch and see sha. Justin Bieber by the way took home the moonman for the best male video for "u smile".

Another person that got people's tongues wagging was Chris Brown! MTV welcomed him back for the first time since pleading guilty to assaulting Rihanna in 2009.  His performance left the crowd "high" literally as he was hoping all over the place. "Everybody loved breezy" but sadly he wasn't given a moonman. Pitbull and Neyo also performed thier hit song together.

Odd Future's Tyler, the Creator had a breakout night as he was given the moonman for the best new act. He has been the center of a media-driven controversy for much of 2011, as his lyrics collide the mundane with the violent. Yet Tyler seemed overwhelmed as he got on stage, admitting he was nervous and had dreamt of winning a "Moonman," since he was 9. Though his songs are littered with images of rape and murder, MTV producers steered from controversy and instead had him dance with Will Ferrell and Jack Black; but it was Katy Perry who took home video of the year for "Firework." It was her second award of the night, as she earlier won best collaboration with Kanye West for her video "E.T". But one thing baffled me though; why look Kanye West of all people in the eye and ask if this is his first moonman really? i loved Kanye's reply though!

Moving on, Britney Spears took the best video award for "Till the World Ends" and was given a short tribute by Lady gaga. They both introduced Beyonce's performance, while Russell Brand payed homage to Amy Winehouse. Bruno Mars performed her hit song; valerie. I even forgot to mention Jessie J. The young lady broke her foot earlier this month but that hasn't stopped her. She and her band were the live on entertainment for the night and need I say it, it was getting pretty annoying hearing her voice before and after ads!

The show ended with Lil Wayne performing "how to love" and "John" which both are two songs from his "Tha Carter IV," album which will be released tomorrow. I loved the way he gave "John" a full rock-band presentation. Most of his words though were bleeped out but his glitchy vocals sputtered and spat over the heavy metal treatment. But most people on twitter were not impressed.
IT IS WELL!!!

JK however will be updating you with more pictures and information from the show!
